‘The kindest thing anyone has done for me.’

This question raises the prospect of definition. ‘Kind.’ A word related to compassion or compassionate.

The obvious answer for any human alive is the one stating the mother allowed herself to gestate and give birth to you/me/we. That alone is the kindest action/thing there ever could be.

‘Kindest’ means ‘the most’, thus the most kind.

Answers then fall into the categories of action given where the results are an improvement in the life of one receiving. Usually such actions as a nice word of encouragement or help in a difficult situation made more bearable by the ‘kind’ action.

Yes. Fully understand such actions. They are abundant and most are sincere. However, acts of kindness are also made with ulterior motives such as the young man showering a young woman with compliments or helping her with her homework…all under the guise of kindness so as to lure her into bed and then resulting in acts of unkindess and telling all his buddies what a slut she was.

Humans are simple poor creatures of intelligence rich in abundance of lying/cheating/deceit WHILE at the same time capable of great acts of kindness. Such an identity could and does provide inspiration for every philosophy student/teacher for the rest of eternity.

Jesus died giving the ultimate form of kindness ever to exist to the human species. He died knowing of the weakness and deceit we are all so capable of. That alone and that ALONE is the only act of kindness as great as a mother giving birth to her child.

Men? Men are pigs. Yet unlike the pig can be (in certain circumstances) kind… Some men give their life to save the life of others. Some men help the poor and downtrodden without expecting anything in return. A wonderful form of kindness.

Long winded true, yet the wind never runs out of breath.

The best actions of ‘kindness’ given to me is not the obvious. It is not even kind by definition. For me, the best act of kindness is the hard reality of truth. To know that all actions received are real. Thus when a person tells me that I’m an asshole and that they hate everything about me. That if given the chance they would kill me, THAT is the kindness I like as then it is the truth.

In return, I can say, “i know,” and in my world i can try and return their hate with the kindness of forgiveness, which is compared to a mother giving birth to her child; Jesus dying for humans; Forgiveness is in the top three of what true kindness is.
