Scurrying; hurrying; on the way to another side
Frost and snow today, mud and water tomorrow
and still the little fella tempts his fate
From one side of the road to the other
Back and forth, back and forth, with a brief pause in the middle just to see if he might be brave.
Even watching one stick his head up between the bars of a cattle guard with a laugh on its face.
Must say, a chipmunk is great and lack nothing when defining courage, unlike a squirrel
which if they had thumbs, they would be sucking them every time a car goes by
while they cling to trees.
