Taboo

Taboo

Taboo…

What a wonderful sound rolls off the tongue just in the uttering of the word, taboo… Magical even.

Writers for a very long time have written as they see fit. Topics ranging from politics to religion, cook books to love letters, and absolutely every subject one could imagine.

Sometimes a writer such as Mark Twain writes a story and uses the word, nigger, in a great story. At the time and until only a few moments ago, the story held true as great literature. Now, nigger, is a taboo word for anyone not of darker pigmentation in their skin…

Was Mark Twain a racist? Ha! Everyone is a racist according to the individual deciding such nonsense.

But getting back to taboo. NOTHING is taboo for humans. Not one damn thing. And for writers, even more so. Thankfully it will always be this way no matter how many wars are fought, no matter how many millions of years unfold… Humans LOVE to prove their ignorance is alive and well. Heck, just look at what I’m writing now!

I once frequented a poetry site where a lot of poets wrote about EVERYTHING. One poet wrote a poem about an Angel fucking Jesus in the ass… How sweet… Taboo? Nope. Well, maybe to some readers. Offensive? Depending on the reader.

An admirable trait for humanity… The ability to do whatever they want whenever they want however they want…

Morality does not exist
Taboo does not exist
however
God does exist
Evil does exist
(of this there is no debating with me as there is nothing to debate as i know each very, very, very well)

In this then, comes the wonder of battling the balance between ‘morality’ and ‘taboo’.

Does God love a writer who writes, “Angels fucked Jesus in the ass.”? Of course.
Does Evil love a writer who writes, “Angels fucked Jesus in the ass.”? Of course not.

How fun! To freely write about a fucked up world. Which of course is just so damn inspirational and leads to today’s bit of reading the news. The Muslims are angry at Nike because they say, Allah, is on one of their running shoes. Imagine the taboo of that. Allah on a shoe.

Ha! Now that is just pure comedy and inspirational.

Allah

Indignation started in a sandy land
Betrayal during war by a tribe
Wholesale retribution as blood flowed both ways
and there we have it still
today

Muhammad saw the children
in a different way
while clinging to the morality he felt given
the self
the individual
the power over others
to attain what is still
today

Power is the god of choice
so many worship it
to cover the face in mock appeasement
as if washing the brain could lead away
what is still
today

Allah, Jehovah, Great Spirit
are ‘they’ the same?

(silence)

To be God is to be One
One of all and all
the same

Unlike mortal flesh and bone
filled with the ability of ignorance
clinging to worshiping themselves
money
objective
everything of power…
this is what it is
today
