Two powerful words; I’m sorry.

In the world of mankind, these two simple words speak volumes. They are a way, a means to seeking a form of redemption. In the general animal kingdom living on this planet, you do not see animals asking forgiveness, showing guilt, or making redemption.

For example: You will never see a lion say, “Geeze,I’m sorry I ate your baby,” to a terrified zebra. But, to be fair, you sometimes never see a convicted killer say in a courtroom after being convicted of slaughtering a whole family, “Geeze, I’m sorry I killed your entire family.”

Probably a safe bet though, to say that being sorry for ones actions is mostly a human trait.

Sometimes…actually, very often… people say they are sorry when there is absolutely nothing to be sorry about. For example: “I’m sorry sir, but we’re sold out on the daily special tonight,” said by a waiter in a fancy restaurant. Now, why is he sorry? They are in the business after all, of selling food? So one would think selling out on the daily special of roasted zebra with lion steaks on the side… would be a good thing to be proud of.

Recently a person I know told me they were sorry if they had done anything causing pain to me… Ha! Little do they realize just how life really is. It is hard, cold, and painful. Human condition 101.

As a monster I cause a lot of pain to a lot of things, creatures and human included. I could spend an eternity saying I’m sorry and actually mean it…but, look up the definition of monster… so, there you have it.

If you’re a person who acknowledges harm to another and says, “I’m sorry,” and really mean it to that person, you are hope for humanity. It takes a lot to say those two powerful words.

Anyway, not going to say I’m sorry for writing this as it is what it is.
