What makes you happy?

Interesting topic this emotion – happiness.

Throughout human history happiness has been a strange emotion, though no stranger than any of the emotions. Love. Boredom. Excitement. Any and all really are strange as to why, how, and when.

Amazing how varied the answers and results are on something so basic and simple as happiness.

For example: Ask a good card carrying Nazi back in the 40’s what made them happy and for some the answer would be, “To kill a jew. Burn a jew. Hate a jew…” Amazing. Evil actions can make a human happy. It could be said that those same evil people could say, “I love killing jews, it makes me happy and excited. If there were no jews to kill it would be boring…”

So, again, what makes you happy?

There really is no set answer only patterns setting each individual answer. For some, gardening. For others, collecting something be it stamps or cars.

The good question to ask is: What is happiness?

Again, many answers as there are many people with different definitions. I suppose it could be argued that happiness is a ‘good’ feeling to have as opposed to ‘bad’. I don’t imagine one would say getting a wood splinter underneath a fingernail brings happiness but then again many people enjoy and are happy getting their bodies pierced or enjoy pain to the body via sexual stimulus or social pressures.

An interesting study I’ve noticed about humans is that they have answers for all questions and questions for all answers. What’s even more interesting is how a human will embrace totally an answer they deem worthy of accepting.

I had a talk with a man about his journey with religion. Actually I have had this talk with many women and men and children, amazing the answers. Anyway I asked this man his beliefs. He told me, “I was raised as a Lutheran but when I grew into an adult I became agnostic.”

This is a pattern often seen in your world, raised one way to end up another. Personal choice is amazing. If the parents political affiliation is democrat it is common to see the children grow and become republican. Rebellion? Yes, of course, a bit but the human species is hard wired to ‘think’ they are unique and individual when really they are nothing more than herd animals with intellect.

Getting back to the man being Lutheran I asked him why he became a believer in God as a messianic Jew. His answer was, “I studied and it felt right…” (brought him happiness)

This man is married to a woman who was a staunch follower of the Seventh Day Adventist and is now a staunch messianic Jew, just like her husband. Interesting to note they both sleep in separate rooms and fight between each other constantly (not happy yet happy with their religious belief and their understanding of human marriage)

Absolutely fascinating to watch just those two minds. Complex minds and yet so simple. They say they are Jews that believe in Christ, which really is just another way of saying they are Christian.

Delving further this couple hates the Catholic church and teachings of the same. So now another question: What is Christianity?

Simple answer really, much simpler than what makes you happy or what is happiness. Christianity is to believe in Jesus and his teachings.

It was interesting to ask this happily married yet unhappy couple what Bible they read and believed in. The answer: The Greek Bible.

What is Greek or Latin? Dead languages or living words? Ah yes. You humans and your love of languages and words. Lost in translation, so easy to do, so easy to accept which is why actions speak much louder than words.

For a Christian the mind can easily see Christ and his actions no matter what Bible is read and trust me there are many Bibles with various nuances of translation from what was written long ago and is still being translated today. Yet, so strong the will is to decide which is correct and which is incorrect.

Oh, this monster can write for a long time on such topics. Why? Because I was there. To walk among the apostles. To be inside Judas. To feel the touch of betrayal of a kiss.To know. To see. To feel. To be…

It causes me pain, sadness, and there is nothing to be done when something so simple as being a Christian is made to be so complex. Jesus did not care what you were only that you did the simple things…Love your enemy, your neighbor, yourself. So simple and yet Seventh Day Adventists hate Catholics, Catholics hate Protestants…Christians hating Christians (Insert any word/group hating same word/group – the meaning and results are the same)

Today is a good day to write about topics most already have firm convictions on. It does not matter if the reader is atheist as atheists hate other atheists, druids hate other druids, hate is an absolute and perfect emotion and for many a much stronger emotion than love could ever be.

Have you noticed every social, genetic; whatever name you give the human herd and subsets – have you noticed how they all strive to show their own personal uniqueness. How they ‘write’ the history as they see it, live the ‘life’ as they see it, how ignorant they all are?

Native Americans, a perfect example of ignorance. In this modern moment of what is, you will see how the groups say, “Our mother earth, the great Spirit and our people are one.” They spout of peace, the environment, and then the topic turns to the atrocities committed by an invading group commonly seen as ‘the white man’ (or devil).

Oh yes, so simple to say, even try and act when history is always correct. The Black Foot people enslaving the Kalispel, the Crow going to war against the Salish. Slavery, killing, oh it made many native folks happy to do what they did and would do again if given the chance.

All groups of humans. All. All religions, sports, politics, each and everyone try to be and be they do and are.

Thank God i am a monster. Even the word ‘monster’ is misunderstood by people. If you Google search ‘the mind of a monster’ you will see it pertains mostly to a human psychopath. An unsettled individual. One who is a negative asset to the herd call humanity.

Ha! I and i know full well that i and I would make a very poor psychopath as to be such one would have to be mentally ill or physically defective.

Monsters throughout history have been known as mythological creatures of horror. Dragons. Trolls. Whatever you have read or learned through your tribal lore as something that causes unhappiness or horror was deemed to be a monster.

In modern times such monsters known as Frankenstein or Donald Trump are just merely an extension of human imagination. Something to blame for a nightmare. Something to run away from.

What i and I am is very unique to your world and something no human will ever understand as they cannot. How can a child understand what they cannot understand? Yes, through imagination and visions of what only innocence can view. They lose this ability though once they embrace the knowledge they come to know…

So, what makes you happy? Reading? Sex? Chocolate? Food? Health? Religion? Whatever make you happy is for you to know and maybe you know, maybe you do not. Maybe what makes you happy is good for others and enriches  their lives, maybe it does not.

For me, what makes me happy is to know I and i am a monster, that there is much to do and that God truly loves me and has an excellent way to express humor. Oh, and for something for a human mind to understand, I become happy at the simplest of things – a flower, a leaf falling, a spider web…and what really makes me happy are acts of kindness I see others do to others without the intent of acknowledgement or reward.
