Ikea has agreed to pay $50 million to the families of three toddlers who were killed when Ikea dressers and chests tipped over on them.

The tentative settlement was announced by the families’ lawyers, who said the money would be split evenly among the families of Curren Collas, Camden Ellis and Ted McGee, who were all two years old when they died.

Johanna Iritz, a spokeswoman for the leading Swedish home furnishings retailer, confirmed the settlement but refused to comment further, saying “it would be inappropriate to comment,” as the settlement was pending a U.S. court approval. She referred to its U.S. division for further questions.

According to the settlement, Ikea will also donate $50,000 to three children’s hospitals in the families’ home states, and $100,000 to Shane’s Foundation, a child safety charity.

The separate accidents took place in 2014 and 2016 with dressers from the MALM line.

In June, Ikea recalled some 8 million dressers and chests, and 21 million other similar models in the United States.

Furniture killing children?  Go figure. How about the millions murdered by abortion? But this is your world, I claim no part of it other than what this shell I inhabit needs for existence.

Speaking of children though, they and food are my two favorite things I like about your world. Sure, there is also art, science nature and blah, blah, blah, but narrowing it down for me it comes to children and food.

Why? (no one gives a shit but I do love talking to myself) The answer is children are the closest thing to innocence and God on this world… as for food, now food is just so damn tasty. The evolutionary process for human body did very well , the olfactory process evolved perfectly, working very well and for this body, very well indeed!

Now the two favorite places I enjoy to go to while serving my sentence are the Hot Springs and Costco. Today it was Costco and the treats they were serving were…scrumptious! (well, mostly, they did have some kind of bread goop covered with olives that made my still ill body quiver.) But, the mini pizza’s were worth eating, bought two boxes.

Sitting at the food court today I got to enjoy both food and children. It was the first time I smiled in days and it felt good. I did notice a large number of children of Italian heritage, it was most enjoyable. One little boy and girl in particular, wonderful little souls.

And then, it got fun. An elderly lady was sitting with her lady friend next to me and it was amazing to see her make such an ordeal out of eating a $1.50 hot dog. By this I mean she made a m-e-a-l out of it.

She did not eat the hot dog in the normal ‘shove it in your mouth’ way, no, she dissected it like a student in science class would dissect  dead frog. It was fully entertaining to see the small parts she cut using a plastic knife and fork, mixing them with ketchup, mustard, and relish with a little bread and sour kraut.

She did not realize she was being studied but for me a most enjoyable study indeed. The whole process had  began before I had sat down  and continued almost until it was time to leave.

She was my entertainment for the day as the children were my smile for the month. In short, two favorites were enjoyed today. Think I’ll play with an IKEA dresser now and see if I can kill myself and then come back and sue…should be good for at least $10.00
